Q: What are the registration fees?
A: For the Fall 2015 Season, $45 per player for Recreational (REC) and $50 per player for Competitive (COMP). Team costs are $450 per team REC and $500 per team COMP. All fees are due before the first games are played. Q: What is the difference between the REC and COMP leagues? A: Both leagues provide good competition. The REC league is open to men ages 30+ and women 17+. The COMP league is open to men and women ages 17+. Players cannot currently be playing with their school team. A player may play in both leagues if they wish, provided that they fall within the appropriate age criteria. REC league plays on Sunday afternoons, and COMP league plays on Wednesday nights. Q: How many games are in the spring season? A: Each team will have at least 8 games. Q: How many players are on a team? A: Maximum Roster is 12, minimum of 10. Games are played 7 v 7. 6 field players and 1 goalkeeper per side. A minimum of 5 players are required at the start of a game to avoid a forfeit. Substitutions are made on-the-fly. Q: When are the games? A: The REC games are held on Sunday afternoons. Games start at 3:00 and 4:00 pm. The COMP games are held on Wednesday evenings with game times at 7:00 and 8:30 pm. (subject to change based on number of teams) Q: Where are the games played? A: Games are played at Joe Mack Campbell Park, 3021 Dan Avenue, Jonesboro, AR 72401. Q: How long are the games? A: REC games play 25 minute halves. COMP games have 35 minutes halves. Q: How do I get involved? A: Individual players can click on the 2015 Fall Leagues tab and print out either the individual or team registration form. Bring your forms to our Registration fair Sunday, August 30th at UpperCrust Pizza Company (3120 Shelby Drive #2, Jonesboro, AR - sometimes referred to as their Parker Rd. Location) between 2:00 and 4:00 pm. Q: Are there Spring and Summer seasons? A: JASA tries to provide soccer year round - Indoor during the winter, Spring 7v7 REC and COMP, Summer 3v3 or 5v5 (look for more info as Summer 2015 approaches), and Fall 7v7 REC and COMP. Q: Wait, did you just say Indoor during the winter? A: Our last indoor season was Winter 2012/2013. In Winter 2013/2014 the floor was being redone at the Earl Bell Community Center. Winter 2014/2015 many facilities had already been rented by Volleyball. The JASA board will make it a priority to try to make a Winter 2015/2016 indoor league happen.
